Probably Ireland’s greatest site of natural beauty, the Cliffs of Moher truly are magnificent. Situated on the coast of County Clare and facing into the wild Atlantic Ocean, this is one of our most popular Munster Bus private Day tours, If you are spending any length of time in Ireland, these cannot be missed.

On your Tour, not only will you see the cliffs, you will also stop by two of Ireland’s most famous castles, King John Castle in Limerick City and Bunratty Castle in County Clare. After Bunratty, you will then visit the Burren, one of Ireland’s national parks. This limestone desert in County Clare is known for its lunar landscape and varied species of plants, including the Spring Gentian, the flower which is synonymous with Western Ireland. The Burren is also home to some of Ireland’s oldest Celtic burial sites, such as the Poulnabrone Dolmen. Spend a while exploring here before you hop back on your Day Tour and continue on to the spectacular fishing village of Doolin. Famed for its waves, Doolin has become an international surfing hotspot. If you’re lucky enough to come here on a clear day, there’s no better place to sit outside one of the town’s many traditional Irish pubs, have a pint of Guinness, and take in the sea air.

After Doolin you will head straight to the Cliffs. Before you walk out to take in the view, we recommend that you head to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience Centre where you will find all the information you need about the cliffs, including their formation, a guide on what to do and where to go in the surrounding area, and a gift shop.

Once you walk out to the cliffs, we guarantee you that at first you’ll be in awe of how immense they are. It’s difficult to put into words how tiny one feels standing on the edge of these enormous cliffs. Below you can feel the power of the wild Atlantic Ocean crashing against the face of the cliffs with such force that you can feel the ground beneath your feet vibrate. If you are brave enough to walk to the very edge, you will feel the spray of the ocean even though you are 120 metres above sea level. We highly recommend you take a stroll towards O’Brien’s Tower, a small castle further north on the cliffs. From the top of O’Brien’s castle not only can you get the best view of the cliffs imaginable, but also of the rolling green hills of County Clare behind you. There is truly is no better sight.

Once you drag yourself away from the Cliffs of Moher and continue your Tour, you will be brought back to Cork or wherever you wish to be dropped in the Munster area, If you think you would like to do this log onto munsterbus.ie and book online
